The VCS and the Credit Crunch!

Please follow the link below to respond to WIC's second economic downturn survey during 2009 - 'The VCS and the Credit Crunch.' We wish to compare the intial results of the survey published early in 2009, with an November 2009 update looking for shifts in trends of response.

In the current economic climate WIC many individuals and families are experiencing difficulties. In these situations they often turn to group/organisations in the voluntary sector for advice, information and support. WIC wants to collate information about these increased demands to demonstrate the important role the sector has in these circumstances.

At the same time WIC is aware that many groups/organisations in the sector are themselves experiencing financial hardships. It would be very helpful if you could indicate the impacts this has had.

WIC will use this information both to publicize the vital place of the VCS in supporting individuals and families through difficult times and to advocate for more resources for the sector to continue or extend its work.

It would be very helpful if you could take a few minutes to respond to this survey to demonstrate the impact the current situation is having in Worcestershire.

As well as statistics 'stories' can drive home messages. If you have examples, anonymised if necessary, either about individuals, families or groups and organisations that, you believe, would demonstrate the current crisis please get in touch directly with Jim Smith at wavocc@btconnect.com

The survey will also be available to complete at the VCS Conference: ‘Worcestershire’s VCS: Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions'
