Consult on NHS Worcestershire Cancer Strategy

 
We are consulting on NHS Worcestershire’s Cancer Strategy 2010 – 2014. It explains how the organisation intends to develop cancer services for the people of Worcestershire. The vision is:

“In the future the population of Worcestershire will be able to access a range of high quality, cancer services that are provided locally where possible, but centralised where clinically necessary. Those services will be provided via strong commissioning arrangements, linked to effective partnership working, that will ensure that the needs of the residents of Worcestershire sit at the centre of all decisions made about cancer services.”


Simon Gartland, Cancer Commissioner said; “Cancer Services are clearly very important to everyone in Worcestershire, and the way these services are currently arranged is complex. It is therefore vital that our draft cancer strategy is well understood and supported by the people of Worcestershire, so I would encourage people to participate in the consultation process.”


We are keen that patients, the public and key stakeholders give us their views and comment on the strategy, so would like to encourage you to view the strategy and/or the summary document and to give us your feedback by completing an online survey by 6th August 2010.

There will also be three public consultation events to allow NHS staff to share our plans for Cancer Services:



· 15th June 2010 - 10am at Forest Glades Leisure Centre, Bromsgrove Street, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, DY10 1PP



· 22nd June 2010 – 10am at Redditch Borough Council Town Hall, Alcester Street, Redditch B98 8AH‎



· 6th July 2010 – 6.30pm at Worcester Warriors Sixways Stadium, Warriors Way, Worcester WR3 8ZE



· 12th July 2010 - 2.00pm at Priory Lodge, Avenue Road, Malvern WR14 3AF



· 5th Aug 2010 - 6.30pm at The Town Hall, Market Place, Evesham WR11 4LW
