The Worcestershire Economic Strategy (WES) was reviewed and agreed by Worcestershire Partnership Economy and Transport Theme Group (ETTG) in September 2008. It was agreed at the time that the strategy remained valid despite the economic downturn. However the economic downturn subsequently turned into a recession. Although we are now seeing a small recovery, this process is expected to be slow, long and protracted. It has therefore been necessary to refresh the WES and its priorities to reflect these changed circumstances, but without fundamentally changing the long term economic vision for the County.
As previously done we are carrying out a formal consultation on draft refreshed WES. We would welcome your comments prior to final approval/adoption by the ETTG. Please spare few moments and follow the link www.worcestershire.gov.uk/researchweb/wes/wes.htm to complete the questionnaire. The formal consultation will end on 14 May 2010.
The draft refreshed WES can be found at: http://haveyoursay.whub.org.uk/whub/kms/dmart.aspx. Alternatively, please let Aamir Kayani know if you would like to be provided with an electronic or hard copy version of the document.
