Big Lottery - Awards for All
The Awards for All programme aims to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need. They fund projects that meet one or more of the following outcomes:
· People have better chances in life – with better access to training and development to improve their life skills.
· Stronger communities – with more active citizens working together to tackle their problems.
· Improved rural and urban environments – which communities are better able to access and enjoy.
· Healthier and more active people and communities.
You can apply for between £300 and £10,000 for your project and they accept applications from the following organisations:
· voluntary and community organisations
· schools
· parish or town councils
· health bodies

Big Lottery – Community Buildings
The BIG Lottery Fund is investing an additional £75 million specifically for rural and urban community-use buildings through its flagship programme, Reaching Communities.
From early December, voluntary and community sector organisations and parish and town councils across England will be able to apply for capital funding from BIG of between £100,000 to £500,000. Application materials and guidance notes will be available on the website by early December.
This programme will target specific areas considered to be the ‘most in need’, which have not yet been announced. Greggs Foundation Grants
Local Not for Profit Organisations such as charities, charitable companies, churches and schools can apply for grants of up to £2,000 through the Greggs Foundation regional grants programme.
The regional grants programme is administered by committees of volunteers from Gregg shops, bakeries and offices who are based in England, Scotland and Wales. They use their knowledge of the local area to make small grants to local organisations, in particular those that make a difference to people in need in the heart of Greggs' local communities.
The Greggs Foundation prioritises local organisations that help people in need in their local area. Additionally the Foundation prioritises the following people:
· People with caring responsibilities
· People with disabilities
· Homeless people
· Older people.
Applications can be submitted at any time.

Heritage Lottery Fund - Your Heritage Programme
The ‘Your Heritage’ programme offers grants between £3000 and £50,000 inclusive for projects that relate to the local, regional or national heritage of the UK. HLF welcome applications that help people to learn about, look after and celebrate heritage in a fun and enjoyable way. To receive a grant your project must:
· Help people to learn about their own and other peoples heritage.
Your project must also do either or both of the following:
· Conserve the UK’s diverse heritage for present and future generations to experience and enjoy.
· Help more people, and a wider range of people, to take an active part in and make decisions about heritage.
Your Heritage is a rolling programme so there are no deadlines for applications. You will receive a decision on your application within 10 weeks from HLF receiving your fully filled-in application. For more information please see the HLF website:

BBC Children in Need
BBC Children in Need are inviting not-for-profit organisations (including registered charities, voluntary organisations, schools, local authorities, churches, social enterprises, community interest groups, universities etc) working with disadvantaged children and young people 18 years and under, living in the UK, to apply for grants.
BBC Children in Need run two grant schemes; Small Grants of £10,000 or less per year, for up to three years and Main Grants over £10,000 per year, for up to three years. They can only fund projects that focus on the differences made (outcomes) to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. BBC Children in Need aims to fund projects where a small amount can make a real contribution to the success of the project.
The next deadline for applications is the 15th January 2011.

The New Look Foundation
The New Look Foundation has been created to allow us to reach out to people all over the world and help make a difference to more lives.
The Foundation works with charities to make a difference in the following areas:
· Learning through access to education - whether formal education or vocational training, overcoming truancy, seeking an apprenticeship, or developing life skills.
· Learning through accessibility - helping to promote an inclusive approach to life, irrespective of physical or mental ability.
· Learning to deal with issues - helping people to help themselves and their friends by tackling anxieties linked to such issues as eating disorders, obesity, body image, bullying, alcohol or substance abuse, sexual health, domestic violence or gun and knife crime.
We will however continue to support local charities and organisations and will consider applications that meet our local giving criteria as follows:
· schools, community groups, and charities registered in England and Wales
· educational activities aimed at helping people to help themselves
· activities aimed at regenerating local communities and promoting a positive 'community spirit'
· activities which help people to feel included in local community life who might otherwise feel excluded
· activities which promote positive self-esteem and confidence
