Give Your View on the Big Society

The Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) is holding an enquiry into Big Society.

PASC is chaired by Bernard Jenkin MP. Members are all MPs. PASC is one of the most important House of Commons Committees. A list of questions about Big Society has been published and can be seen here www.parliament.uk/pasc

Questions of particular interest include:

• The impact and consequences of reductions in public expenditure on the Government's ambitions to deliver its vision for the Big Society.

• The role of and capacity for the voluntary and community sector to deliver local public services including the appropriateness of using charitable income or volunteer labour to subsidise costs.

• Possible problems and challenges from increased commissioning of public service provision from the voluntary and community sector as envisaged by the Government.

If you do not have time to make a formal submission to PASC you may wish instead to write to Bernard Jenkin MP with some brief views about Big Society and what is happening to the voluntary and community sector in your area. I think it is important that this enquiry produces a large postbag.

If you decide to submit a paper to PASC please send it to pasc@parliament.uk or by post to the Clerk of the Public Administration Select Committee, Committee Office, First Floor, 7 Millbank, London SW1P 3JA by Friday 18 March 2011. If you decide to write to the Chair of PASC his address is:
