Improving Health Issues in Worcestershire

This report is written for the residents of Worcestershire and NHS Worcestershire’s partners to keep them informed about the health issues they have told us are most important to them. It provides an update on the first Emerging Issues report which was published in June 2008, as well as setting out some of the new emerging issues facing us. The most obvious and unwelcome of these is the economic downturn and the effect this will have on the future of the NHS. The NHS states,

"We have been given some protection for 2009/10 and 2010/11, and we must use this short period of time to involve our partners and the public in determining our overall resilience objectives for 2011/12 onwards, as we know that from then onwards we can expect little or no growth. We need to decide what is most important to us and what shape we want to be in as we emerge from the recession. We have made a lot of progress over recent years developing health care in Worcestershire and we are determined this should not be sacrificed. We welcome comments and observations, questions and challenges about the contents of this report."
