HEALTHY LIFESTYLES FOR OLDER ADULTS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES
- PROJECT COORDINATOR

The Odell Trust, a charity based in Kidderminster, runs the Odell Centre, a recreational day service for adults with learning disabilities. The Trust commissions the Wyre Forest Leisure Coordinator to organise leisure activities which are open to all adults living in the Wyre Forest area who have a learning disability.

The Trust is now launching a new project – Healthy Lifestyles for Older People with Learning Disabilities. This project, funded by the Health Improvement Fund, will offer activities, talks, demonstrations and events aimed at encouraging people to look after their health and give them the information they need to lead a healthy lifestyle. The project will be aimed at all older people with a learning disability who live in the Wyre Forest area. Some activities/events may be open to people from across Worcestershire.

The Trust is looking for a self-employed individual to coordinate this project. This will be someone with experience in working with people with learning disabilities/older people or both. We need someone who is used to working on their own initiative and who can add their own ideas to the existing outline of the project. The person appointed will also be required to work alongside the Leisure Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of all activities and events.

The post is part-time - 15 hours per week - to be worked at times depending on the needs of the project, including some evenings and weekends, for 18 months. The person appointed will be commissioned by the Odell Trust and will need to be self-employed and work from home. They will be a car driver with the use of a car on a daily basis.

Interested parties should apply in writing, detailing their ideas on taking this project forward as well as their experience and suitability for this post to:
