National Volunteer Week
Volunteers’ Fortnight 2010 in Bromsgove and Redditch
31st May – 11th June
For the third year running BARN have been asked by Bromsgrove District Council to invite their groups to provide some volunteering opportunities for BDC staff and elected members during Volunteers Week.
Both 2008 and 2009 were very successful attracting increasing numbers of participants and bringing together the Voluntary Sector and the Council.
This year groups are asked to offer a variety of opportunities to appeal to all tastes and abilities including:
o Single volunteers and groups of volunteers (to encourage those too shy or unsure to have a go without a friend or colleague to hold their hand!)
o Individuals and Families (so that people can volunteer during half term by encouraging them to bring their children)
o Using BDC knowledge and expertise, - get a Council officer in to advise you on issues such as environment/recycling, diversity, PR, Human Resources, Publicity, IT etc
o Skilled and simple practical tasks (to suit a range of abilities)
o Not requiring CRB checks (ie only supervised contact with clients)
