27 July 2010, 16:03PM - 21 September 2010, 16:03PM
NHS Worcestershire and Kemp Hospice are very pleased to invite you to take part in ‘Saying the Unsayable’, a series of workshops created to open a dialogue about, living, dying and death.
The workshop is based around a set of photographs reflecting themes such as loss, fear, hope, belonging and letting go. It is designed to provoke reflection and conversation around these very difficult ideas and to open a discussion about the images and language we use to describe and understand these universal experiences.
During the workshop, photographer and community worker Ade Marsh, who led this piece of work, will tell the story of the exhibition, unfolding the stories and meanings behind some of the pictures and the themes they follow. He will then offer the opportunity to reflect on some of these themes and images, looking at what the images mean to us and also at the language and images we use to express and understand our own grief.
The workshop is an excellent opportunity for anyone involved in supporting people through death, dying and loss and offers an invaluable tool for exploring the memories and stories that help us to understand and express our experiences around the end of life.
The workshops will run from 9.30 – 12.30 and will take place on
6th September in the Board at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch
8th September in the Charles Hastings Education Centre at Worcester Royal Hospital
21st September in Room 2 of the Treatment Centre at Kidderminster Hospital
