VCS Support Programme for Contracting with Worcestershire County Council
30 October 2007, 12:00PM - 13 December 2007, 16:00PM
‘Engaging with the procurement process in Worcestershire: commissioning and contracting demystified!
Worcestershire Infrastructure Consortium acknowledges the funding provided by Worcestershire County Council as a major sponsor of this programme of training and support. The Consortium is pleased to be working in partnership with Worcestershire County Council as further work is undertaken to prepare voluntary and community sector provider organisations in Worcestershire for the next round of the tendering and procurement process, due to commence from October 2007. As part of this process 6 joint learning/briefing sessions are planned over the next three months – all with the same content but in various locations around the County – to focus on the topic below:
‘Engaging with the procurement process in Worcestershire: commissioning and contracting demystified!
• What can I expect?
• Where do I start?
• Who will I be dealing with?
• What sort of paperwork will I have to fill in?
The content of the briefing will include information on the context of procurement (with reference to EU and national government directives) and the Shopping, Investing, Giving model, definitions of key words and phrases, guidance on the e-tendering portal on the Worcestershire CC website and further guidance on the expectations and processes in place for commissioning and contracting with the County Council. There will be a Question and Answer session on each occasion, with a running log of issues and concerns being maintained, so that this can be drawn together at the end of the six briefings and form the basis of a Q&A sheet which can be widely circulated to the sector to better inform interested parties.
The target audience will be vcs organisations that have, or are interested in having, contracts with the County Council, and should be of particular interest to those groups that are engaged with other aspects of the support programme.
VCS organisations are encouraged to book places on the most convenient date; if you are unable to attend a local event on the advertised date, please feel free to book at another venue. Also, it would be good to encourage Trustees to attend with staff, wherever possible.
