Worcestershire Volunteering Forum on Tuesday 8th March 2011

On behalf of Worcestershire Infrastructure Consortium (WIC) the Volunteering Hub is pleased to invite you to the Worcestershire Volunteering Forum on Tuesday 8th March 2011 at The Vale Golf Club, Bishampton. This event is supported by Capacity Builders.
We hear a great deal about ‘The Big Society’ but what does it really mean for each one of us? Will it really make a difference to our lives, both in a working environment but also in our own community? Will everyone want to get involved? What will be the role of Community Champions or is the Government just trying to re-invent wheels? These are just some of the questions we are hoping to address during this Forum. We will be seeking YOUR opinions as well as giving you the chance to ask the difficult questions. Let’s hear the views of Worcestershire’s Volunteer Managers and we will endeavour to collate them and pass them on to local MP’s (and other decision makers!!)
There will also be an opportunity for networking with fellow volunteer managers over lunch.

Workshops:
1 - The ‘Big Society’ – where do YOU fit in?
2 - Community Champions – what is their role?
Attendees will have the opportunity to attend both workshops - you will be allocated places so as to ensure an even distribution of delegates from both the voluntary and the statutory sectors.
